FAQ

Everything You Want to Know about Capsule Living

Can you live in your garden room?
Technically, you can live in your car, but we wouldn’t recommend it! Our pods have been designed for occasional or full-time use. You will need to consider the planning conditions of your property and local authority.

We have sold Pods to people that have relatives living with them, or have regular guests. There have also been families with grown-up children who wish to give their spouses some independence.

We are also seeing a growing trend of people buying pods as an investment. Airbnb entrepreneurs can see a huge opportunity in an economically priced pod which attract a premium as these are seen as an exciting alternative to a traditional B&B. As some of our units are self-contained they can serve as a completely stand-alone rental unit.

The process of realising that garden room as an extension to your own home can move much quicker than for example a standard extension.
Generally, garden rooms don’t require planning permission, however, there are certain rules that do apply to ensure you remain within the ‘permitted development’ regulations.

The main rules are:

This is dependent on the scope of the project and where you intend to set and install your garden room. If you already have an area and its groundworks are suitable then no you will not need to engage in these services. If a planning application is required then you can engage with a local architect to support you but you would be amazed on how simple the application is and the steps you need to take – to understand this process, they are all readily available on all Ai chat engines.

Your garden room will arrive as a complete solution; all it requires is to be put in place by a crane. This is something we organise for you as delivery and the craning of your garden room is incorporated in your quotation.

The various configurations we offer can be with or without kitchens and bathrooms. If you choose to have a bathroom and/or kitchen, then your garden room will need connecting to the services of your home.

All our garden rooms come with an installation guide for your local plumber and electrician in advance.
